Science Fair 2009

For the first time in many years the school had a Science Fair as a way of promoting science throughout the school.

We had over 200 entries from within the school with some being completed in pairs or threes while others were individual entries.

A pleasing standard was seen all over and tis was commented on by the judges along with the enthusiasm of the students.

We were fortunate enough to have 3 judges from Waitakere College and Henderson High come in and judge the work.

The Results are as follows:

Overall Winner:   Kezia Vitangcol  " Battery"

Runner-up:          Alice Lua "Blood Pressure"

Year 7

1st Place:           Rhiannon Leader "What food do Chickens like best"

2nd Place:          Jessica Hunter "What food do frogs like best"

3rd Place:           Cameron McVeigh "Brands of Cat food"

Highly Commended: Samantha Waru " Can carrot tops grow in the dark

Year 8

1st Place:      Ryan Tasker "Parachute Canopy"       

2nd Equal:     Helena Santos "Conduction of Heat"

2nd Equal:     Jennifer Sambrook "Suck it up"

Highly Commemded:  "Detergent vs Stains"
