Zone Rugby

The school was recently involved in the Zone Rugby Competition which was held at the Avondale Racecourse.

We entered 3 teams: Open Weight Boys. U55kg Boys and a Open Girls team.

The U55kg boys team went through to the final without a loss, although having a nil all draw with Blockhouse Bay in both their pool game and in the semi-final.

In the final they played Kelston Intermediate and unfortunately losing 5-0 after a hard fought match.

The Open Girls team played very well and met Rangeview in their semi-final and at full time the scores were tied at nil all.

They went into extra time and after playing 15min of extra time unfortunately Rangeview managed to score the break through try to advance to the final.

It was an excellent effort by the whole team and thanks must go to Delzea Tu'uu's  Dad for all the effort he put into coaching the girls and running the team on the day along with Mrs Ingoe.

The Open Boys did not have a very successful day but never stopped trying.

Thanks goes to Mr Grant and Mr Inivale for all the time and effort they have put into the Boys teams.

The NZAIMS 7's is next for the Rugby boys and we wish them all the best.
