MUSIC

Students learn a wide variety of skills in music, such as instrument technique, composition and reading music. The theme for year 7 is "Maori Music" including learning about historical and modern characteristics, whilst learning keyboard and ukulele techniques. The Year 8 theme is "Rhythm and Blues" which includes learning about the history of this genre and how it has developed, with a focus on developing keyboard and guitar techniques.

Students also have the option to have an extra one to one lesson in piano or small group lesson in guitar for a small cost each week.  The school choir is another option for keen singers to be involved in school performances and community events.
