Welcome to the Textiles department.

Year 7 children learn to thread and control the sewing machine, then make a cushion cover which they design the centre of. The children must use the decorative embroidery stitches on their machine and use pictures or writing from our computer programme to decorate the centre panel. They are taught the skills necessary to construct their cushion cover e.g. seams and hems.
