Room 5 Mrs Trudy Ingoe

 Dear Parents

I hope you all had a lovely break over the Recent Holidays.

We have an exciting term planned for Room 5 and our full programme will start Monday 1st August.

During the term we will be covering

Term Three

Written Language - Report Writing, Argument Writing.

Math - Geometry during the first half of the term and following on with Algebra.

Integrated Studies - Rugby World Cup with a focus on South Africa as this is our Adopt our Country throughout the world cup.

Reading - Our focus is the nine strategies of reading, Inference, Activating Prior Knowledge, Questioning, Summarising, Visualising, Self-Monitoring, Making Connections,Synthesising, and Predicting 

Physical Education - Cross Country and Athletics

We will also be experiencing an outdoor adventure, tree planting and learning how to care for our environment. Rooms One and Five with also be doing an art project with Mandy Patmore our local artist.  We will be working on this througout the term and it will be completed early in Term 4. We hope that parents will come along to view this project which will be displayed at the front of our school.  Our project will be about native birds.

The Lizard Man visited Room Five bringing along Lizards, Stick Insects and Wetas.  Many of the children had never seen these insects up close before.
